Life Magazine covered in 3 black and whites pages Jacqueline Kennedy visit on May 6,1966 as a special guest of the royal family in Seville, Spain. Jackie wears a peineta or high comb, and an exquisite, handmade lace mantilla, both presented by her host city of Seville. Also clearly The Grimaldis, the official guests of honor at the Seville fair, had been conspicuously miffed by all the attention they were not getting and matters reached head at the ball in the castle of the Duke of Medinaceli when the Monaco couple were nearly bowled over by the guests rush to see the late-arriving Jackie. With relations between the two ladies hovering just above the freezing point, the Duke (below), in his role of host, did his diplomatic best to charm them both.
The magazine is in very good vintage condition in its plastic sleeve, without the mailing sticker of the original owner, in some cases it came off. There are the usual small dents and sometimes a bit of color loss around the edges. In amazing vintage condition, though, given how old is the magazine have a musty scent which you would expect for their age.
